A full-bodied elegant style, aged in fine French oak for a long sleep. One complex wine. Our vines produce powerfully fragrant fruit and so we have chosen to release the wine relatively young. As the aroma and perfume are best captured in its youth. The warmth of our vineyard on the Western Ridge of the Barossa means that the perfume is in the red berry, blackcurrant spectrum (cassis), and ensures a wine of charm at an early age, with pronounced but even and round tannins. We ensure that oak and typical Cabernet structure are present but subtle, so the varietal characters are forever present. The palate has a seamless quality, with the fruit flavours merging with those of the oak, and all underpinned by grainy tannins. Being Cabernet it will cellar beautifully, 8-10 years, but age is not essential for enjoyment.
